Ethnic diversity and women leadership in the Australian corporate sector: successes and challenges

Aims

This project aims to generate novel insights into the successes and challenges of ethnic diversity and gender diversity of leadership in the Australian corporate sector.

Research questions:

  1. What are the career pathways and leadership experiences of ethnically diverse women leaders in the Australian corporate sector?
  2. How are their career pathways and leadership experiences influenced by institutional, organisational, and individual factors?
  3. At the organisational level, what processes and policies have been put in place to increase the ethnic diversity of women leadership? How effective have they been?
  4. How might change to improve ethnic and gender diversity in leadership be achieved in the corporate sector?

Ethnically diverse’ refers to non-Anglo-Celtic (AHRC, 2016)
